A rising opportunity

It’s no doubt in my mind we are headed for a serious financial storm. We are now getting to the point where consumer confidence is dropping. As a small business owner you may not have a huge liability but finding and closing deals will become increasingly difficult as the financial climate changes.

Just as when you see colors in the sky, you know a storm is coming. We have seen the nationalization of our banks and a approval to inject cash to maintain banking liquidity. Everyone is trying their best to prevent this financial system from crashing. The truth is, it more than likely will get much worse in the months to come before it is to get better.

I know that sounds like bad news but it’s actually good news. If you are an over-leveraged bank unable to make new loans then bad news. If you are an individual with large sums of cash, you have a huge opportunity to provide individuals with hard money loans. If you are a service provider, you have to make your product affordable and it must prove to be a bargain. During The Great Depression, there were people with money. My grandmother had money during that time but she just chose to spend it wisely. The public want to see the value of their dollar.

I still get a number of calls of people requesting help to build their business. At first I thought, a new business in this climate? Then I realized that its entirely possible that bigger companies crumble and fold due to the condition of the market. This of course makes the way for smaller more agile companies. The danger is that many of these people running these companies used to be employees and although they might understand THE business, they don’t fully understand business.

If you have a business, or perhaps you are starting a business, I suggest that you find not just ONE coach but MANY coaches based on their independent needs. There are coaches for many needs. For that matter, mentors are essential for entering in to a market like this.

When you have a panel of people to run ideas across, you find that your business will succeed even in a market that seems like its heading for imminent destruction!
